Hi JohnBont, I carb count and have a fairly routine kind of day and food types. I know that if I eat any fat (cheese - more than a small matchbox sized piece, yoghurt, cream, cream cheese - more than 1 heaped tablespoon) I'm going to be checking my blood sugar every 2 hours and correcting constantly with insulin for 6 - 9 hours later so I change my basal rate for that but if I've just been eating carbs and food like meat, fish, fruit, veg and my blood sugar continually changes at the same time of day for three days in a row then I alter it. I'm going through early menopause - I'm sure this is the main reason. Such fun!!!! 🙂Thanks for your reply Jenny101 much appreciated. Can I ask, how do you know your basal rate changes, what are the symptoms please? Regards John
