I have used Nutracheck for the above before however due to financial reasons I only had the free version which was obviously limited to 5 entries per day.

I am looking for an app that doesn't require me to enter details of weight, height and target weight as I just want to track my carbs and have a running total every day. I'm probably asking for something that doesn't exist but if anyone knows of free apps that provides such a service that would be helpful.

I input my carbs to calculate my bolus so my carbs are tracked in the app , I have the paid version for the bolus calculator, but there is a similar app with a free bolus calculator called mylife. Screenshot_20230829_174326_mySugr.jpgScreenshot_20230829_174812.jpg

Thanks although I am not on insulin so not sure if that changes things. I just input my blood sugar readings. Don't put meds or what meal bs reading relates to as test minimum once a day

I used to use it, and IIRC you can customise the screen to only show the fields YOU want.

I used it for quite a while, and it was only because they weren't able o support Libre (commercial pressures I believe) that I switched.

I'm not on insulin and don't wear a libre or Dexcom so forgive me for sounding confused by your reply.

I'm not sure MySugr will help me with what I want- to keep a running total of carbs without recording my actual food as that's too much like a diet diary.

I'm sure it will do as much or as little as you want. I'd suggest downloading it and trying it. But don't forget that how it comes 'out of the box' is probably more than you are looking for. So dig around in the customisation and remove what you don't need.

How about a notebook and a pencil?

I use MySugr (with the Bolus Calculator but it's not compulsory). As the screenshot shows, there is a running total of carbs showing each day (along with insulin doses which you don't have to enter). It's entirely independent of my Libre.

You can enter carbs alone without a BG reading, note them as a meal or snack if you want. It's very flexible and the free version should be fine for your purposes. Anyway, you have nothing to lose by giving it a try!

I’ve just downloaded and paid for a year’s subscription (£36.99) for Carbs and Cals as advised by the nurse. Only used it a couple of days just to log what I’m eating to see the correlation between carbs and insulin. Seeing the dietician in a couple of weeks for the first time and I may just have unnecessarily spent the money but I feel that at least I’m doing something and getting the impression of control even if it’s not! Good news is even with the fixed injections prescribed by the nurse, levels are back below 10. It may just be the honeymoon period before my pancreas packs up completely but I’m taking the small wins right now.

Hope you’re all having a good day.

@HalfpipMarathon Are you just wanting something to tally up the carbs from the food and drink that you consume after you have worked out the carb content of each meal/snack or are you wanting an app which will tell you the amount of carbs in each food you eat and then you give it the weight of that food/portion and it does the calculations, as well as keeping a running total fir the day? Many of us carb count ourselves rather than relying on an app, so you need to be clear about what exactly you are wanting the app to do.

A bit of both, although I suspect that's not possible, as some products only give info per 100g rather than portion. I did use Nutracheck but for some reason now they want weight, height, goal weight

Is that a problem to put that info in, or just make something up if you don't want to put your actual w,h, gw.
Portion size may be different for the individual so if per 100g people can then work it out for the portion they are going to have (divide g carb by 100 and multiply by the number of g in the portion you are going to have).
