I have been avoiding bread for lunch and today had about 30 carbs in crackers, some cheese, a little chicken, with 2 olives, one cocktail beetroot and stuffed tiny pepper. I also had a cup a soup. When I tested myself 3hrs later I was 12 and did not expect this. How do I get my numbers down in 2 hours??

Was the 30g the total carbs for the meal or were there extra carbs in the cup-a-soup @Sue56 ? It sounds like you might need to reduce the carbs overall eg less crackers, no soup, and then you can judge what combination works best for you.

Edited to add that as you’re on Gliclazide, reduce your carbs very slowly in your lunch experiments.

What was it before lunch, unless you know that you have nothing to compare your after meal level to.
If it was 9-10 before then the meal was ok, it is just your levels are still high.
