The Collins Gem Calorie counter book (includes carbs) is nice and small and lists pretty much everything you're likely to come across.

If you stick to wines [most] and spirits [diet mixers] your laughing........😉

cool...i would normally have a rose' or disaronno with diet coke 😛

Do you have an iPhone or Android phone because Carbs and Cals would be good for you.

Can I ask a bit of a cheeky question, I haven't got my copy or carbs and cals yet, can anyone with it tell me how bad southern comfort is?? It's my fave drink but I know it's fairly sweet so just wondering how it fares carb wise compared to, say, vodka or gin?

Thanks :D

It's not in as such, but it does give sweet liqueur as 8g carbs per 25ml. It's my favourite drink too and I have found that it doesn't actually affect my levels at all (but it may affect you differently - best to experiment! 🙂)

Can't remember exactly, but it's not too bad. I used to avoid it due to its sticky, sweet appearance but last year we decided an average tot wasn't a prob.

AS long as you limit it to a couple of measures, it shouldn't be an issue.

This page gives 1oz of SC (about 30ml) as only 3g carbs, and it seems a lot lower than the other sweet liqueurs. Elsewhere I have read that clear spirits like vodka and gin have only a trace of carbs. 🙂

We tend to use Asti for christmas and new years. I'm not sure quite how many carbs are in it - but I did notice when I last had some that it did push me up.

Yeah, I knew vodka was one of the least carb-y, as a friend follows low carb diet (to lose weight) and she drinks that with diet mixers...dreaded SC to be way higher or something....😱

Well I have been gently sipping on my Christmas stocks of SC tonight and there has been no impact on my levels 🙂 Enjoy! 🙂

I suspect that a St. Clements made with SC is much lower GL (if diet lemonade or 7-Up Free is used) than the non-alcoholic version with orange juice. 🙂 It's certainly a lot more enjoyable (for me at least). :D
