Well, I thought it was time I popped by head above the parapit (?)

After the Birmingham meet, last month, I thought I too would join the low carb diet debate.

In a month, I have all but stopped bread altogether, not stopped potatoes, pasta, rice etc though, just bread.

In that month, I have lost a stone in weight, but much more importantly, my insulin intake is now down by approaching 70% - yes, 70%, and is still coming down.

I now have a serving of rice, potatoes, or pasta with every lunch and dinner. Porridge at breakfast. Yes, I appreciate there lots of other carbs, but for me, it seemed it was bread that did not to suit me at all. Sad thing is - I LOVE bread. I tried everything NOT to give up bread.

Losing weight is a major bonus - but the reduction in insulin is pure magic!!

Hope you each find you problem carb

Wowzer. That's an impressive result Hazel. Well done.🙂

Have you changed anything else at all or just cut bread out. ie. have you replaced the calories with anything else or could it be the calorie reduction that's contributing ?

But 70% insulin reduction is amazing. There must be some science that explains it but I can't imagine what.

Well done.🙂

Rob

Thanks Rob - I am taking more fruit, yogurt (Onken fat free) and more veg. To be honest, I am eating better, but more than sometimes I feel I need.

It used to be all to easy to have a sandwich as I didn't feel hungry. Obviously that happpened more than a few times..........

That really is a tremendous improvement Hazel, with a wonderful weight loss and huge drop in insulin requirements! 🙂 Who would have thought that it would be bread that could be so central to your past problems?

Keep up the good work! 🙂

Thanks everyone

My last HbA1c was in double figures - so I will report back when I get my next one, which I hope will be down to at least 8.0, which, I know is still disgusting. I'll let you know.

Cheers.

Wow Hazel what a revelation! So glad this is working for you. Well done for giving it a go, so often we think "oh I can't be bothered" or at least I do!! Hope your HbA1c shows a good improvement too.xx
