Between 3am and 9am I had a total of 13 units of bolus but as at 10.20 BG has started going back up. I haven't eaten anything and feel nauseous. Just had another 3 units of bolus and will try to eat something soon (which I will bolus for)
3am 14.0 3 units of bolus
7am 18.1 8 units of bolus
9am 11.7 2 units of bolus
10.20 13.3 3 units of bolus

I would imagine it is the stress and emotions you are going through Amanda. Look after yourself and give yourself time. This frustration is the last thing you need, sorry you are having to go through it.

Check your site/cannula/insulin too, obviously.

Trying to eat what you can may help as it will help prevent the body going into starvation mode and dumping glucose, which I think can happen if you suddenly go without food for an extended period.

Have you put a temp basal on as well?

THanks Mike. I've changed the cannula and had 15g carb to eat - according to the Libre I'm 15.8 and steadily going up (previous results were finger prick tests). I will do a full set change if it doesn't start to go down.

Hi Sue no I haven't put on a temp basal because I'd expected the boluses to sort it - but I will try that now.

Can't help with the medication. but I do send you a hug{}. Of course your blood sugars are not going to be good at the present and probably the more you worry about it the worse they will be. You will get control again but you have to be patient and don't beat yourself up over it. Better times will come. 🙂

Thank you Happydog 🙂 I was just worried because of the amount of insulin that I've been needing. Hopefully it will calm down after the funeral on Thursday. Thank you for the hugs 🙂
