it is unusual for Type 2 to be referred to hospital teams.

Nearly impossible, I was seen twice by the hospital team and discharged, back to square one. Sals the important thing is to look after your health and let the others run the place. It cost me two years on the sick by not telling the so called management to do something, and cost me the job, thankfully in a big place I moved into another job.

Good luck with the op - I was worried, like 'How well will I heal?' and I was absolutely 100% fine.

Nice to have a perfect excuse - no an order! - to not do a lot ! LOL

I've found rather depressingly that nobody is indispensable, but on the other hand nothing is more precious than health. I say that to deter you from returning to work if you aren't really fit. It takes around three months to fully recover from a hysterectomy - I'm sure the ladies will agree - but if at the same time you are playing whack-a-mole with diabetes it may just take a tad longer. In my experience teachers, more than any other profession, are buggers for going back to work too soon. Used to drive me spare:confused:

Mind, I did marry one🙄

Good news-diabetic team at the hospital have given me the go ahead. Having my op 18th July which is a relief. They were satisfied my waking levels have been 6-10 over last 2 weeks. Got to keep them steady til then!
That's such good news, well done for bringing down your numbers and wishing you a easy time till then.

Good luck Sals don't put a time limit on your return to work you may need more time than you are expecting, I returned to work to soon after a full hysterectomy and felt exhausted at the end of each day. Wishing you the very best.

Good luck.

Hope it all goes well, Sals, and you have a relaxing summer recovering.🙂

Am home from hospital today. Was well looked after, they let me stay in total control of my diabetes and treatment. Had a hypo this morning but other than that pretty much stayed at about 10/11 over the three days. That was fine with me considering the amount of drugs that have been pumped into me! Thanks for kind messages x

Glad to hear you're out the other side, as it were. Now spend the rest of the summer recuperating!

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

How are you doing now?
Enjoy the summer and being at home for start of next term.
Your deputy will thrive and it will be good on their CV.

Sit back look after yourself and enjoy time for yourself.
Good books, try some new craft, ...
