I am fairly new to insulin and am taking two doses a day.
As I've gradually increased the units I am having difficulty in injecting the larger amount in one go.
Does anyone know if I can take this over two injections?

There should be no problem dialing up half your dose, injecting, then dialing up and injecting the other half immediately afterwards. Your body will see this as a single dose.

If you are asking if you can take half your dose now and the other half in, say, 6 hours, that may have unwelcome impact which I would not advise.

Assuming you mean 2 at the same time, yes, not a problem, just make the 2 injections well apart physically, say one on left side and one right.

Which insulin is it?

Thank you both it will help me considerably. I am finding that I push the needle in too far into my stomach as I'm pressing the top of the pen down.

Your technique will gradually improve @She Davis4 Once you’ve got the needle fully in, pressing the pen button shouldn’t be pressing into your tummy further as the button is depressed.

The main reason to split a large dose of insulin is better absorption and comfort, I believe. What insulin are you taking?

I have to split my dose into two as well it’s fine please check with your care team before doing this.

I was advised to split doses larger than 40u and use a fresh needle for each one.
