Hi new to the group just watched a programme on tv and would like to know if possible for me to go on this diet?

Type 2 take metformin 4 x 500 tablets plus atorvastatin and aglogaliptin..plus diet !!

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Brian, welcome to the forum 🙂 I didn't see the programme, but the advice generally is that if you are planning on making big changes to your diet to discuss it with your nurse or GP as you may need to adjust your medication. Good luck if you go ahead with the diet 🙂

Hello Brian, I watched the recent programme on this and have tried the Cambridge diet, whch I had to stop as I found them very sweet for my palate and they brought by blood glucose up higher than my norm. However, I'm trying them again but only the savoury ones as they were good. Hope this helps

I’m very weary of liquid diets or shakes. I’ve been advised I can’t do any of them as they aren’t recommended to anyone with a heart condition. I’ve also looked at the ingredients and was shocked how much sugar and carbs are in them.

I'm doing cambridge diet and due to the type 1, I can only go as low stage as step 3. Only 20g carb in the shakes I have. My bms are getting good finally as well 🙂 I did have to get permission from my team and you send your bms every week upto the head office via your consultant.
