Ladies, can I ask.

Do any of you get any really painful lumps/spots or absesses round your bra?

I've felt uncomfortable around my right breast for days but there was nothing to see, in the shower earlier I've found a really angry looking large spot.

I've had absesses before so don't think it's that as I get them on my hip or groin area.

My bloods haven't been that high but I repeatedly get them round where my bra sits or deep in my arm pits.

I know I'm a freak of nature but wondered if anyone else got them?

Sounds like a boil, OUCH! 😱 If it doesn't come to a head and go away in a few days, have a word with your GP. They sometimes need antibiotics to clear the bacterial infection that causes them.

sorry to ask do you get yourself measured and fitted? perhaps its a badly fitting bra-where maybe a wire rubs?

Yeah I do, sadly due to the size of my chest I always get checked when buying a new bra

*pulls a face* I'm resisting the urge to squeeze it but its so painful I want it to bog off

You might have to go droopy for a few days if it's where your strap/wise touches the skin.

Just tried on my work clothes, I can't go droopy sadly.

Am going to have to pad the area til it bursts or goes away :(

I believe you can get/make some kind of 'drawing' paste to make it come to a head quicker. Have a look at making your own...I bet there's a recipe online somewhere.

I get itchy, sore sweat spots in 'hot' areas 😡

Perhaps try a warm pad to help bring it to a head. Then keep protection over the area so no rubbing.

What about a sports bra? That should give you support with rubbing the sore place and would hold a dressing in place as well.

second Alis suggestion just recently purchased 2 sports bras from tk maxx for ?15 and there so comfy

Re: something to draw out the icky stuff. My doctor recommended magnesium sulphate paste for an infected finger, and it worked. You can buy small pots of it in Boots. You only need a little bit, cover with a plaster, and change the dressing twice daily.

My sports bra is 3 cup sizes too small for me so will have to hunt one down

Yes, here the absess princess!
It startet with a boil , twice so far , around my waist . The first time A&E had
a go ,didn't work, a week later hospital for 2 days
, OP and daily dressing with nuerse for 6 weeks.
Second time , one year later.OP first , something went wrong , the whole infection move to my back, 9 days hospital on antibiotics drip and morphine.
After this ,10 weeks every day visits to nuerse to change dressing and meassure how deep the whole is , It startet with 13 cm .
On both infections , high fever , high BG.
They tried with an insulin drip before both OP to get my BG down for 24 hours, didn't work , so they operated me on very high BG .

My advice , pad it with clean soft tissue or cottonwool. If it starts to become red, sore and doesn't open after a day , if you get fever or suddenly high BG
please see a doctor or nuerse !

I think of you

If you get bad spots in groin area and arm pits that because of shaving .

Yours sound horrific.
I usually get shoved on anti biotics & if that doesn't clear it up so I usually sterilize a needle, prick it & clean it out. If I do that it heals up within a few days
I'm going to keep an eye on it & go to the docs if it doesn't go away

Sorry Laura I can't be much help on this one, but it sounds painful - I hope it goes away soon... and if not then please get it checked out!

xx

Once you get rid of this one, have you ever tried baby oil round the folds underneath? - I worked with an exceedingly well blessed girl and she said to me - nobody understands the CARE you have to take of big boobs, I have to oil them every time I shower - it's the only way to stop them getting wringing wet with perspitation underneath and your underwires rubbing, and hand wash my bras in soap (as opposed to washing powder) and it's clean underwear once a day minimum, if I'm going out that's another clean bra ....

She handwashed her bras because she said if she machine washed them THAT often, they only lasted 5 minutes.

Gotta be worth a try?

Hadn't thought of baby oil, I left that to a lad I knew for his job & can't keep a straight face looking at it.
Yeah I hand wash every week, it's a pain but better than killing the washer with a rouge wire

Aww Laura poor you cant offer any idvise but hope it clears up with what others have suggested x

Not sure this will help but when I had to have 3 weeks radiotherapy on my left boob it became quite sore; I used a sports bra and when not in public just went "commando" wearing a vest top. I did also use supportive crop tops which worked a treat.

Hope you are feeling more comfy, I also used aqueous cream as a shower cream to keep my skin well miosturised.
