Hi All

Hope you are all staying safe and well in these testing times. I had a text message this AM from my GP confirming my appointment for 12.50 today!! I rang and said that I had not made one and certainly would not be coming to the surgery as I was self isolating to which I got and "oh ok". Anyways, the long and short of it is that I had a call from my Dr asking for BP readings (which fortunately I take), weight, height, did I still smoke...gave up 10 years ago and asking were my feet ok. It is nice to know that they are looking out for us and I was due my 6 months check up 1 month ago - I am presuming that was it. Just thought that I would post this in case anyone else has had/or gets the call!

Stay safe xx

Rather surprised you were offered a routine appointment Billy, most of those seem to have been put on hold for a while now.

People with diabetes are only advised to be ‘social distancing’, of course (rather than fully isolating), though some members of the forum have chosen to isolate. Perhaps that’s why your surgery is offering appointments, and maybe they have a social distancing set-up in place?

I got a call a few weeks ago to make diabetic and copd review appts which i thought was strange, then 2 days later got a call to say they were being cancelled as they thought it was unnecessary appts to come to the surgery for during the lockdown..whole thing just made me giggle.

Sounds like your surgery use the same appointment software that ours does. It doesn't know who actually wanted the appointment or indeed care, so if the GP bunged me on his list to ring today, the first I would know is the same sort of text that you got, since it involves no human intervention whatever once an authorised human has accessed the prog and allocated that slot.

Sounds the same. I then get another call around 3 hours later, asking me why I had changed my address and not told them to which I replied I have lived at the same address for 35 years - guess what, was then asked are you sure!!!

Have a good day all and stay safe. xx
