Sorry if there is a thread already like this

For xmas i'd love to bake my son (he is type 1) some mini cakes and biscuits that are kind of diabetic friendly.

i was wondering if anyone knew any good websites that have good recipes on.

Many Thanks 🙂 x

To be honest, any cake / biscuit / cookie will do, as long as you know the carb content of the portion size you give him.

Does he have strong likes / dislikes? I know many children won't eat cakes with dried fruit.

Most people with diabetes have an unofficial rule that normal eating doesn't apply for Christmas Day and their birthday.

He really isn't keen on any kind of fruit

OK, well, you'll be looking at chocolate cakes / biscuits, perhaps?

Yes, i'm slightly new to the whole treating a diabetic to cakes 🙂

Here you are!

Scroll down to recipes, then Desserts or whatever the heading is. I can vouch for the Brownies and the Double Chocolate Chip muffins - but use the teeny paper cases for the muffins as they are very very rich. You'll have to shorten the cooking time unless someone has said what it is for the smaller ones, just stick a skewer in, which should come out with no goo stuck to it if they are cooked. And the Brownies can be cut into squares about 2-3 cms across. Plenty big enough for such an explosion of taste and for such a little perdon! - mum can easily have 2 while he isn't looking, LOL

It must be hard as parent of small child as you want to try and be as strict as possible now to ensure minimal damage, so as he can afford to 'let his hair down' further down the line.............

Everything in moderation as they say........🙂

Thank you all 🙂
