My Dr has told me that he wants me to go on Byeta. Just wondered what people who are on it or been on it think about it, and if you have any tips or advice that may help me!

Thanks!

My general thoughts are - if the Dr says go on, then go on it.

Do not be put off by anyone elses tales of initial side effects. They may be true and I havent met/spoken with anyone who hasnt had some initial reactions, but they do pass and from personal experience byetta is well worth persevering with.

My own story with it was the first couple of weeks on the '5' having very little appetite, feeling rough as anything but then it settled and I moved up to the '10' after 2 months and have been on it for the past 2 1/2 yrs now, have massively improved Bg results and have lost about 4 stone. (I cannot put it all down to Byetta as I also started running at that time but it was enough to give to me the kick to do the healthier lifestyle thing.)

Good luck

Byetta changed my life and I love it. My advice would be to give it a go. I must admit I felt nauseus and a bit grotty for a couple of months BUT I lost 2.5 stone so that was a bonus. I have continued taking it for 2.5 years now and just recently the weight loss has resumed. My Hba1c went from 10 to 6 and has stayed there.
