Hi, I was diagnosed yesterday and finally got my bloods done after using my own BS monitor for 2 years and being unsuccessful in getting my BS to an acceptable level. I succeeded to some extent but never got it lower than 11-13. I took the plunge and got my bloods done for the first time in 5 years. Cholesterol high, bp high, low in Vit D and high BS.

However, all other major organ levels were normal and I took a lot of comfort from that. I drink too much over Covid and got into a bit of a rut. I was really worried getting the bloods done.

I am facing this with positivity. Health is more of a worry when there is no medication. In my case everything can be controlled.

My aim is to lose 4 stone, start exercising. I am hoping to reduce the dependency on tablets but in the mean time will need the support of medicine and I accept that.

When I had my bloods done 5 years ago, my BS was in range.

I am determined to use my situation to improve habits, get healthy and lose weight.

It is an opportunity, not a life sentence. Bring it on !!!!
