Businesses from across Burton have shown their support for a masquerade charity ball which raised more than £20,000 for diabetes care.
The black tie event, held at Wilderley Barn, in Rugeley, was organised by sisters Lucinda Beardsmore and Stephanie Hough to raise vital funds for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), a leading charity in Type 1 diabetes research, and the neonatal intensive care unit at Derby Royal Hospital.
They decided to raise money for JDRF as Mrs Beardsmore was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of six and Mrs Hough's son Alfred, who is now eight years old, was also diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic at the age of five.
