Just got back from my trip up to Sainsbury's to replenish my Burgen supplies - shock, horror! Couldn't find it, just the small loaves 😱 Then I noticed that they have changed the packaging to something much plainer and less eye-catching, phew! 🙂 To make up for it, the price was reduced to £1.25 per loaf.

Don't be caught out like I nearly was! 🙂

I have been buying the smaller one for a few months now. I think I first bought it because they did not have the large one.

The large Burgen has been £1 at ASDA since I started buying it. Almost out, so I will check later...😉

Sadly, no ASDA near me Even Sainsbury's means a special expedition, so I buy 5 loaves and stick 'em in my freezer 🙂

I have never tried freezing it. (Tiny freezer. Must open it sometime this year.) It was still £1 last night at ASDA where the late reductions included a "salad kit" for 5p. The birds will be getting the "crouton pieces". 🙂

Yes! I stared at the ones in Morrisons this morning wondering why they looked odd, then realised about the different packaging - it's about the cheapest around here at £1.38, now that Iceland don't stock it and we don't have an Asda (and it's getting harder to find ).

The same thing happened when I had a few minutes previously popped into Boots for my usual hair colour...I scoured the shelves for some time and then saw that it too had changed its packaging to something completely different! Talk about baffling the poor old customer...

Glad you warned me about the packaging change, I'd have missed it! Don't want to make anyone jealous, but I just popped down to my local co-op and bought a large loaf for £1.25, and 5 bars of 85% dark choc at £1 apiece. Should last me a day or so!😉

Nor mine, despite vigorous efforts on my behalf to get them to restock it And they still haven't restocked their 85% choc since I bought the last 7 bars a couple of days ago! 😱
