Bruising

Has anyone one experience bruising with inculin hope I'm doing it right

Just this evening on my injection I noticed bruising on my belly gone yellow in colour. I hope I'm doing it right as it's exactly how my dsn showed me

Yes I had a big one other week and doc and diabetes nurse said it was fine

Are you injecting on a 90 degree angle and not slanting the pen hun? Also do you rotate where you inject

Yes I rotate I have two inculin fast acting and long acting so I do belly and leg different sites I don't know about 90 degree angle I think so

Ooooh right ok. Well I'm only doing 1 jab so probably others be able to offer more advice then moi. I can guarantee tho we have all bruised at some point x

Vic I totally understand. I've been looking at diagrams on Google because I was thinking am I injecting right etc etc . It's human nature we worry x

I get bruising all the time it's nothing to worry about at all.🙂

I bruise a lot more on my stomach than my thighs for some reason. Often smaller needles can help but I use 4mm so they're already pretty small!

Hi , What brand of needles and which size are you using, some brands don't seem to be very good.
We all get bruises sometimes though, I'm different to @Rosiecarmel , I mostly bleed or bruise when I inject my thighs , so perhaps try a different area.

I know its not the same thing, however: I get bruises when they take blood samples. I've been told I'm more likely to bruise generally because I take aspirin

This is true. Blood thinners definitely make you bruise more which is something to remember

Interesting! I've never bled in my legs but probably 7 times out of 10 I'll bleed or bruise when I inject in my stomach. I find my thighs hurt more though.

Everybody is different. I suppose @vic all you can do is experiment with different areas. Outer thigh area, lower abdomen, buttocks and some members inject in their outer arm area but this is difficult for some and if you don't have a lot of fatty tissue there, it's easy to inject into a muscle especially if you have a long needle so it's not often recommended anymore
