Brothers boy started with T1

I got a phone call from my brother on Friday night to say that they had rushed his son in to hospital he has started with T1 Diabetes and was realy Ill.
He was on a drip had Ketones and if he had not gone he would have been in a coma soon. Hes in his 20s his girlfriend has just had a baby and he has lost a lot of weight and was not sleeping and had just put it down to that. He will be in hospital a few days but think he will be fine.:(
 
That must have been a shock. I hope that he feels much better very soon.
 
Goodness! I hope he feels better soon and gets used to things - at least he has an auntie who can help him out 🙂
 
Blimey sorry to hear bout your brothers lad granma must of been shocking for all hope he feels better soon and at least as Alan said he will have an auntie who is in the know
 
Sorry to hear that. Like they need that to worry about just now. Mind you perhaps the stress of the preg and the baby was the 'final straw' for his Beta cells?

Buy him a copy of Ragnar Hanas' book to start him off on the right foot? Wish that had been there when I was diagnosed !
 
Not too surprising that he put tiredness and loss of weight down to recent birth of baby. He'll be feeling much better very soon - and you'll be on hand to help, plus all of us here, if he chooses to join the boards, having been inducted into club noone wants to join.
 
I hope everything is well and the young man is feeling well soon. Good news about the baby and I hope everyone is well.
 
Hes doing realy good was only on hospital 2 days phoned me when he came out and I went through they had told him to have 6 units every meal time. But he knows that he would have to change it so hes been doing carb counting and has got it right for his breakfast this week so hes going to start on lunch next think hes doing fine now picked things up quick and he even downloaded the carb and cal book on his phone so taking it all well he looks better anyway🙂
