Hey everyone, didn't know if you knew but if your with British Gas - let them know your diabetic so they can put on the priority list for any emergencies

I've been on it since we moved here in 1998 - we were almost ready to move in after doing shedloads of work on the house and Pete rang Transco one Monday to do the very last thing we needed at that stage - ie to reconnect the gas meter since we'd had to disconnect and move it, having demolished its wall.

Was told we'd be put on the waiting list and it would probably be weeks before they could do it. We'd given and almost finished serving our notice on the rented house we were in and had made arrangements to physically move the whole shebang the very next weekend.

OMG he said. My wife's disabled that's why we're moving to this bungalow (no it wasn't) and she can't be without heating or hot water!

They never asked what my disabilities were, so were never told a fib about that, and came the same flippin afternoon. According to the workmen - they hardly EVER had a day when they were busy all day - which they would much rather be - but even when they had none, they were always paid full time and the office constantly lied about it.

I know about this. My wife has many conditions & is considered a vulnerable person. We are planning to apply for help.

All utility companies has an at risk register. 🙂
