Are eggs vegetables? Interesting concept. When they grow up, they become chickens. So much for principles.:D
No but you don’t have to kill the chicken to get the eggs out. Or kill the cow to get the milk out. Which is the difference between vegetarians and vegans, veggies basically don’t eat meat or products which come from dead animals. Vegans don’t eat anything which comes from animals at all.
I'm not either, by the way!

There are endless sub-groups of vegetarians that can be confusing. These are the main ones:

  • Lacto-ovo-vegetarians eat plant-based foods, dairy products, and eggs, and exclude meat, poultry, and fish.
  • Lacto-vegetarians eat plant-based foods and dairy products, and exclude meat, poultry, fish, and eggs.
  • Ovo-vegetarians eat plant-based foods and eggs, and exclude meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products.
  • Pesco-vegetarians eat a vegetarian diet but also include fish.
  • Semi-vegetarians may eat dairy products or eggs, as well as a little fish and chicken, and generally exclude meat; also called partial vegetarians.
  • Vegans eat plant-based foods only, excluding all foods of animal origin; also called strict vegetarians.
I find it confusing as the few I know seem to flip between types. One goes between lacto and semi regularly. Another eats no dairy but eats eggs. The waitress earned her tip when we all went out for for lunch together! 🙂

Mikey you are confusing vegetarians and vegans
