hi can i ask which is the best there is I have these Weetabix, scots oats, all bran,sheddies are these a start, or can i improve any, please
 
To improve - the best thing is to chuck all of them in the bin and have a proper meal of protein fat and a small amount of carbohydrate.
As type twos cant cope with carbohydrate, starting the day with an overload is rather problematic for many.
 
Breakfast cereals are known as cereal killers due to their very high carb content and the very high blood sugars which result from eating them.
 
All cereals are carbs so you’d be better off avoiding all of them if you can. Try something like an omelette, you can put cheese or vegetables in if you like, or natural yogurt with a few berries in (berries are the lowest carb fruits)
 
Have a look on the packet for the total carbs for each of the products but you also need to take into account the portion you would have of each of them.
A good option would be some Full fat Greek yoghurt with some berries and then a scattering of your chosen cereal. I have All bran or Lizz'is low sugar granola as my scattering with some seeds.
or as Drummer says bacon and egg, eggs in any form are good.

hi sorry I may need to explain a bit 1st I am housebound and have home help i can't cook nor can my carer needs to be quick as they have so much time to get me up and dressed and breakfast so thats, why i am asking i, have eggs twice in morningand 3 times for diner so its hard asking for ideas
 
Not just bacon and eggs - I always boil bacon for a minute or so to get rid of the preservatives, but such things as cauliflower cheese, or sausages and stirfry, left over chicken or a tin of tuna and a salad, omelette of any sort, as long as it is low carb will all be a good start to the day.

Can you move around at all?
If you could get hold of an induction cooker - they don't get hot, just warm up suitable pans, then you could sit at a table and make yourself something to eat.
 
I sometimes have full fat Greek yoghurt - 4-5 dessert spoons, handful of raspberries or other berries and a teaspoon of a nut butter (no sugar nor salt added). It's very satisfying - and no cooking required at all.

Testing your blood sugar 2 hours after a meal is also a great idea so you know what your metabolism can handle and you can tweak your diet accordingly too!

I (type2) have a bowl of porage or a couple of weetbixs for breakfast and on a work day (6 mile cycle ride there) my back rises .5 to1 on non work days it rises by 1/1.5 so I'm lucky in this but cooking a fry up at 5.30am is just not going to happen for me.
My only advise is to try them and then check your levels you might get lucky and handle them.
 
I have porridge or cereal most mornings for breakfast. Porridge doesn't impact my blood levels to badly. I usually have some berries with mine. Occasionally I have all bran or weetabix. I weigh out my portion so that I don't go too mad on the carbs.

But I believe it does have added sugar?
 
I found all cereal pushed my BG up but didn’t have much time to cook before work, I have recently bought a teriyaki grill off Amazon it’s brill I just put bacon mushrooms tomatoes and eggs all on at the same time then go get ready for work while it all cooks itself

Yes, but the carbs are still low, as I said. A 40g serving of All Bran is only 19g carbs and has a lot of fibre. Compare that to Shredded Wheat where 2 biscuits have 30g carbs even though they have no added sugar. So more than 50% more carbs than the All Bran.

I also find that Shredded Wheat needs more milk, so not only would you have more carbs in the cereal, you’d probably be having more milk than you would with All Bran too, further increasing the carbs.
