I like the lidl version of Lizzies low sugar granola, exactly the same but half the price. I have 50g of it mixed with alpro plain no sugar soya yoghurt, comes in at 25g of carbs and tastes lovely.
 
I have no added sugar granola with yogurt and berries some days.
 
The Eat Natural granolas are low carb. The Lizi ones are too. Of the more widely available cereals, old-fashioned puffed wheat is low carb too. 40g of All Bran is only 19g carbs.
 
@Falkirk Bairn I see you have type 2 diabetes.
Not all diabetes are equal and cereal is a key example of this.
Most cereal is high in carbs. People with Type 1 inject insulin and can tolerate carbs. Many people with type 2 are unable to tolerate carbs which is why the comments above refer to low carb alternatives.

(Sorry to be pedantic but it is confusing for someone newly diagnosed with Type 1 - the condition I know - to be told that "diabetics" should eat low carb without distinguishing between the different types of diabetes. I know this has led to problems with some people with Type 1 diabetes.)
 
The true answer is probably none as they are all high in carbs and sugar is just another carb. If you do have them keep the portion size down. I have a small portion of homemade muesli (oats with cold milk) together with berries and nuts. I also have egg and bacon.
 
As a diet controlled pre-diabetic I find I can tolerate porridge or overnight oats with a healthy helping of berries and nuts. I gather others are not able to.
 
Are oats ok for a recent type 2 who may be classed as type 1.5 very soon. Im a bit confused about what and how much carb is acceptable. I luv oats and berries (a few dried fruit ?)
 
Yup small portion size...each morning I have 10g Allbran, 10g Shreddies, 50g Banana, 50g Milk. It is usually the highest carb meal I have in a day.

Cant say for type 2, eaten porridge for breakfast for 50+years, 40 of them being type 1, wouldnt change things still enjoy oats after all these years.

It is understandable that you are confused at the moment as until you get a diagnosis you are in a dilemma because what might be suitable if you are Type 2, that is lower carbs meals, if Type 1.5 that might not be necessary and It will depend on what medication you are going to have.
If Type 2 then some people tolerate oats some do not so not straight forward by any means. Hence why testing is recommended to see if an individual can tolerate a food or meal.

That might depend on your diagnosis. The best oats for blood sugar are proper traditional whole oats/jumbo oats. If you turn out to be Type 1.5 and are put on insulin you’ll be able to eat oats. If you turn out to be Type 2, you’ll have to see how they affect you.

We have Scottish ones in the cupboard at the ready.
My 2nd Vit B test was today and the Nurse should phone any day; The lowest count is 11.4. Down on 18. @the surgery. Thats with low carb.
