Since getting my Libre 2 I have noticed that my BG rises fairly rapidly after I eat a light breakfast of one Weetabix with some berries on top. Berries on their own do not seem much of an issue so it must be the cereal. What do others eat to avoid a spike? I was thinking of trying Shredded Wheat or porridge although not keen on the latter!
 
Libre ia great for highlighting these trends.

Most morning eat porridge for breakfast, being type 1 have to take insulin & bolus around 15-20mins before eating to prevent spikes.
 
It's a huge bowl of porridge for me every morning with crushed walnuts and sultanas in, sometimes with a sprinkle of cinnamon on the top for good measure - goes down a treat and doesn't appear to have a prolonged effect on my BG.
 
I have a low sugar granola and/or All Bran. I find Weetabix ok but weirdly Shredded Wheat not so good. If it’s a brief spike, I wouldn’t worry too much, but you could try experimenting with different cereals and cereal mixes. I remember from the time of my diagnosis that All Bran is low GI and that seems to be true for me. Adding full fat milk can help too, as can moving your bolus slightly earlier. Good quality jumbo oats made into porridge works well too. Adding nuts and seeds helps as well.
 
Taking the insulin earlier before eating smooths it out more for me
 
I don't have a go to breakfast. It varies from day to day. I may have yoghurt, fresh fruit, muesli bar, toast, ... whatever takes my fancy and is in the house.
Whatever I eat for breakfast, I find I am more insulin resistant than other times of the day. This doesn't mean I change what I eat. It just means, like @Lucyr I inject earlier to avoid the spike.
 
I need 45mins prebolus at breakfast time using Fiasp (it was 75 mins with NR) to prevent a spike, even with just yoghurt and berries, so it isn't so much about what you choose to eat as the amount of head start the insulin needs to prevent the spike from it.
 
My usual breakfast is
  • couple of heaped table spoons of frozen berries (defrosted)
  • couple of heaped tables spoons of Greek yoghurt
  • couple of heaped table spoons of finely ground almond/walnut mix
  • topping of finely ground 100% cacao chocolate
At about 5 grams of carb (total, not per 100g), this is very low carb
