I ate a slice of protien bread (4 carbs) with my kippers today.
I might have another one as there is a roasted turkey drumstick in the kitchen to tidy up......

I bought an SD Codefree meter and we get along just fine.

On the subject of bread, I discovered hi-lo bread after a fruitless search for the livlife bread - the Newcastle Waitrose doesn’t stock it.

I’ve found the hi-lo stuff In Sainsbury’s at Durham (Arnison). The slices are quite small, but it’s really dense and very nice. It freezes quite well, and I often clean them out of it as they don’t always have it in. I personally don’t react negatively to this stuff, and I’m enjoying it with avocado and a poached egg for a cracking breakfast

Lol. You pipped me to the post. I had just spotted this bread on the Sainsbury’s website and thought 5g carbs per slice was pretty good, so was going to post it on this website. I’m going to buy some when I next go shopping. 🙂

@mephistophille I eat Hi-lo every day. I avoid chemically produced food and this loaf is high protein too so don’t need to snack after breakfast. Like you I clean out Sainsbury’s & freeze so I’ve always got some

@Sally W I get tetchy when I only have 1 loaf left. I'm driving my wife mad by visiting every Sainsbury's in the region 🙂
