I always found Boxing Day as kind of 'stuck in between'. Not quite a holiday, not quite a busy day. When I was little, it was a day to go see friends, but now when everyone is scattered across the globe, it makes things a bit difficult. Might be time for me to start some new traditions :star:
Not sure how it is in your neck of the woods Gail, but up here where I live it's a misty rainy today today, which definitely doesn't help in trying to feel that Christmas spirit... And all that is talked about on the radio just now is football. They called it a festive broadcast, but unless the ball is wrapped in Christmas lights, I fail to see the 'festiveness' in it :D
That's my rant for the day too I guess. I do hope you feel better soon! I know that everyone go a bit overboard with planning and prepping for Christmas, so a bit of a calmer night might be in order... Rest, take it easy and take care <3

I have recently been watching You Tube videos by American and Canadian persons, who are now living in the UK, comparing our Xmas traditions with those from back home. Boxing day is one aspect of our Xmas that they really love. Back home they have to cram their Xmas into a single day so they just love our two day Xmas.

I personally like Boxing Day , lunch is more relaxed usually mashed potatoes leftover cold meats from Christmas Day and various pickles.
A nice cheeseboard and nibbles in the evening.

When I was a little kidlet I used to think that boxing day had something to do with men hitting each other while wearing padded gloves.

This year we hosted Xmas dinner for my two brothers on Xmas day. Boxing day we visited our in-laws. So I'm with our trans Atlantic friends, two day Xmas rocks.

The Canadian YouTuber is called Alana and is well worth looking up. Her vids are very entertaining and her observations on our cultural differences are both insightful and often laugh out loud funny.
