So many of you won't think it's a big deal but since being diagnosed I've not been my usual self throwing on a pair of joggers and a hoodie as it was easy to just stick my kit and insulin pen in my pocket well no more I want to get back to wearing nice jeans etc so bought myself a little shoulder across body bag with a banksy design to put my stuff into 🙂 one step forward to being the old me again x

It is nice when we can do things that make us feel more human and normal

I totally agree with @mikeyB here haha 🙂 x

Got to admit to both - the 'Buying of the Bag' occurred last year and was very trying to find a bumbag that could fit both my meter & pens, and a copy of carbs n cals... and today I discovered I'd somehow Dropped a load of test strips in the office - and still had 1 stuck to my elbow!

How long did you take to notice the one on your elbow lol x

I'm on the same wavelength as Imelda Marcos on these matters (however not at the expense of the poor!) 🙂

This point may be wasted on the very young on here like Kaylz. Good for you. Nothing needs to change because you have diabetes!

I use my old daypack

I always was on the same wavelength though - before D and long before I'd heard of her ! Not quite in the same price bracket methinks LOL

My wife has a wicker box under the spare bed that weight about 15kg and is full of bags. After moving house and lugging it round for something like the 8th time in 10 years, I suggested we could perhaps throw away some of the ones she no longer uses. This suggestion was met with some vigorous resistance, up into the point that I pulled one of the bags out at random, opened it and found it had a train ticket from 2006 in it.

I then had to make the requisite encouraging noises at being told later that she had thrown four of the bags away (a number I immediately divided by four in my head to get an accurate estimate), and it really shouldn't have surprised me a few weeks later to notice that at least two never-before-seen handbags had somehow made it into the house.

I'm no better though, I have 'the drawer', which contains enough cables, circuit boards, batteries and obsolete media players to build a spaceship. You never know when you might need a scart lead, right?

I'm a sucker for a new bag. When I get a new one out to use and my OH asks if it's new I'm like, this old thing, I've had it ages!!!! I'm not sure he always believes me though!

I've never really been into bags my down fall is shoes and trainers I have heaps of them and been looking at some new boots too, I have a pair of trainers that I haven't even worn yet as I'm a bit weird - as they are white I won't wear them unless I'm sure it's not going to rain haha x

You live in the UK. It rains!

I'm in love 🙂 x

Hi Kaylz - I recently bought two glittery shoulder bags that accommodate my diabetes meter bag - a small handbag with purse - and a spare pair of lightweight sandles - does the trick for me - I'm thinking of sewing a pretty motive on each bag. - oh and a bottle of water xxx
