You def need to bolus.

This is what I thought! They told me that it released really slowly so not to bother but I did think otherwise! I shall give it a go! Thanks Peeps

I don't bolus for soup as if I do I always hypo, I just bolus for the bread I have with it.

I suppose it might depend to some extent on what soup it was. Something like home made lentil soup would be very low GI, but a shop bought potato and leek would clearly have quite a lot of carbs in it! As with everything though, it's down to how you react personally as revealed by your meter 🙂

ahhhhh I see. This one is shop bought. I will trygiving myself a bit of bolus and keep an eye on it!🙂

If it's got potatoes and/or other thickening then I'll need to bolus. If it was clear probably less so - as you say Astbury, it depends on the carbs in it.

I'm also surprised it was said to be slowly absorbed - I find it fairly 'fast-in' as it's all whizzed up/processed and there's not a lot of non-carby bulk to slow it down, especially if eaten with some sort of bread.

I always bolus for my wife's homemade soup usually estimate 30g carb

Good grief! - tinned Tomato hits you like a steam train!

Always bolus! (unless as Mike says it's transparent LOL - eg Thai Hot & Sour, yukkkk)
