Blurry eyes

...I'd say - doctors for you! - for reassurance if nothing lese.

I'd agree, we can only suggest a possible cause based on our own experiences, but you should get it checked out if it persists 🙂

I remember when I left hospital (where my levels had still been ranging from 2-28 mmol/l 😱) and started getting good numbers, I couldn't read at all and had to buy a magnifying glass so I could read the packets in the supermarket. One day I forgot to take it and I felt very old when I had to ask a young shop assistant to read a packet for me!

I was given to understand in 1972 (on diagnosis) that the eye effect (which not everybody has and it affects some more than others) was actually as a result of your body getting used to lower BG levels. Mine also took 6 or 7 weeks to settle. As I earned my crusts working as a clerk, this meant I couldn't go to work. Neither could I read, knit, sew or watch telly for very many minutes which was tragic as I'd booked holiday to watch the Munich Olympics .... Grrrrrrr.

Bored as hell.

I do get blurred eyes when my BG is high, yes, that's utterly common - but it is a different kind of blurred (although it looks the same to my brain IYSWIM)

The first sort is a focussing problem; the second is - just blurry vision.

So if you've started a new med, and esp if your BG is OK - it should actually be a GOOD sign.

I was advised not to drive or try to do anything termed 'close work' until it had settled otherwise I'd get terrible eye strain and permanently ruin my eyesight.

I'd say - doctors for you! - for reassurance if nothing lese.

My blurry vision is all at a distance, up to a hundred metres I can still see ok but the .....sharpness that was there, beyond that, is no longer, if my BS is high.
I tried an experiment after it happened the first time and I had calmed down and thought about it. I was on purposely naughty, (increased my BS with a piece of chocolate ..oh! heaven, more like BAD JIMBO! BAD :D) after a little while it had the same effect, so that's why Alan's info made me feel a lot better, it confirmed what I suspected was happening and gave me a sense of discovery and relief as I now have another tell tale for high BS.
The first problem you mention TW, the focussing one, I only experience when I don't wear my glasses for reading! :D
