I have been doing more testing and keeping notes for the consultant, as the nurse suggested I should, and it seems impossible for me to see an obvious pattern. Some days seem rather good, others rather bad. Though the last two weeks have really plummeted which has not helped as that is most of the period I have been documenting. So I have just assumed it is the result of a spurty pancreas and it is yet another way I struggle to function in hot weather.
The consultant said his concern with hypos is them being too common that the body gets used to them, which is fair enough. Especially as he also sees Abasaglar as being inflexible. Though he is seeing them in isolation while I am comparing them to my experience on Gliclazide, which was even more inflexible and at times I had worse spells with them, yet I never lost awareness.
But if the lows are too low and the highs are too high, I suppose they are the bigger risk to avoid until I change treatments. And they are not particular nice so I am quite happy to avoid them!
