Bloods were taken today! Thankfully, since tonight i've shot right up to 19 :(
Everything goes t*ts up when i'm home! Especially around christmas. The foods i'd normally have aren't here and i'm fed everything the family is.

I feel fine despite high blood sugars however. Just makes me irritable. I haven't been running high high all the time but haven't caught it below 8 in a few days but i've been testing less!

I hate that new flipping meter they gave me! Its got no time on it :( I can't remember exactly when I took each test... and since I log it straight onto my computer I can't do that everytime obviously. I feel rude now i've 'accepted' it to tell em I don't want it though. ha.

What meter is it Liz? I thought all meters had a time function. I know what you mean about not having familiar food around you - you don't really think about it until you're actually in the situation then it's too late!

When do you get the results from your tests?

It's the True Result one... so small that they couldn't fit it on I guess!! Now consequently i'm not writing down my readings as often :(

The test results were for the Endo so won't be knowing what they are until january! But as I said, glad they're out the way so christmas won't affect it 🙂

Also, i've been checking for ketones... still none! How comes?!

What True Result model is it? I would say it's not fit for purpose if it doesn't record the time that a reading is taken, because how can you analyse the results and identify trends if you can't put the results into pre-meal/post meal slots etc.? I would point this out to your DSN or endo and tell them how it is leading you to not recording your tests properly. I am sure that, for individual cases, they can waive the requirement to use that meter and you can use a more suitable one.

You can get ketones for a couple of reasons: either because you are dieting and losing weight, or if you do not have sufficient insulin circulating to process them out of the body. It sounds like you are still producing sufficient insulin for ketones to be adequately removed from your body.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year! 🙂
