Hi, just had my HbA1c result and it's gone from 10% to 5.7%.
Quite happy with the result.

Cheers
Jamie

Well done
Jo

I was just wondering what would a persons HbA1c result be who doesn't have diabetes.

Jamie

I think the normal range for a non diabetic is 4-5.7, then 5.7-6.4 is prediabetic, and 6.5 and over is diabetic.
Youve done very well to get yours down to non diabetic levels so quickly.

My non-D husband (who gets an NHS MOT every 2 years now, being as he's even more ancient than me) has so far had an A1c of 5.5 every time since he was 60 and they started doing it!

Had lots and lots of BG meter checks sporadically over the last few years since he's had to have loads of different hospital procedures carried out - and everybody gets them whenever you have anything done in hosp these days (even if you ARE diabetic anyway and therefore testing all the while and you arrive at A&E with eg welding flash, LOL) when it ranges between 5 and 5.7 - which matches the tests he does with my meter very occasionally just for curiosity anyway!

Quite happy?? - I'd be ecstatic meself !!

I believe, in the bigger type numbers that are used, 42 and unders. When you hit 48 (or 49?) you are diagnoses as diabetic.

That's a brilliant result Desseardo. Well done 🙂

Thanks for all the comments. I have gone from quite happy to very happy with my result!
Taking my children to cadburyworld next weekend, so hope I can keep my willpower strong!

Cheers, Jamie.

A very well done from me.
