Hi William

Welcome to the forum.

It's important to keep an eye on your blood pressure if you live with diabetes, because of the increased risk of heart disease.

If I remember correctly, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, increased weight in the midriff and dislipidemia (raised cholesterol) are often grouped together as part of the metabolic syndrome, so they are frequently found alongside each other. That doesn't mean one causes the others, but they are frequently observed together.

I know that my blood pressure can go up when I have high sugars, but I don't know if that's because my sugars are high, or if it's just that when I'm stressed both my blood pressure and sugars go up.
