I've been having one of them for the last ten to twenty years. They never get organised enough to fit me up and I'm definitely not reminding them. My bp is always too high. Brother has had to wear one a few times and says it's very uncomfortable. He said it was a hassle having to get the machine back to the hospital at the crack of dawn next morning. Hope you sleep okay with it.

Not looking forward to the sleep but hoping it will be ok. My hospital said it was ok to bring the monitor back after I finished work which certainly helps

I was lucky cos mine had a long lead on it, so I was able to put the machine itself on the floor smack up against the side of my bed. have to remember to pick it up and take it with you when you need the loo in the middle of the night though! LOL

Oh well that's it over, took the monitor back to the hospital this afternoon. Feeling tired as it woke me up every hour during the night and I found it hard to get back to sleep. Must admit it was a laugh at work. I must have looked a complete wally busy working one minute and then suddenly stopping and looking like a statue!! Gave a few of my workmates a chuckle at least.

What surprised me was that the hospital said it would take 4 weeks to get the results. I thought it would be a case of hooking the monitor up to a computer and seeing the results.

When I had mine done many years ago it was done at my GP Surgery, the results were available within days.

My readings were done and acted upon straight away. It might depend on the practice and how busy they are.

Why did you have to stand still again?

When taking blood pressure you shouldn't be expending energy. You're not even meant to talk during the process.......... at least that's my understanding of it.

Oh right. Yes they always tell me to stop gabbing and Mum too. 🙂

Yeah as soon as it beeps you are instantly meant to stop what you are doing and relax your arm, was a pain in the ***e when I had it a few years ago lol, don't even need an appointment at my surgery to check bp now as apparently there is a little walk in pod in the waiting room now, how posh lol x

Got the results today of my 24 hour blood pressure test. Glad to say they are normal so nothing to worry about.

They have now changed my cholesterol medication from Bezafibrate to a statin (Atorvastatin). Not sure about this but will give it a go.

I have had raging high blood pressure for years. They have threatened me with that over night measurement thingy for years but never get round to actually doing it. Like I said on the other thread...I'm invisible which is no mean feat at this size. :D

Know that feeling, blood pressure keeps on climbing and trying to find meds that work, so far on the max I can tolerate for 2 and nearly at the max what you can take on a 3rd. Can't have the 24 hour monitors as allergic to the disinfectant they use to sterilise the arm cuffs after use.

Good news Davo...you must feel relieved.

Yes I am, that's one less thing to worry about. How are you feeling today?
Good so far Davo...although still aching...getting back to some activity finally...thanks.

That's good to hear. My eldest son has his leavers ceremony tonight (for parents) and then his ball so all getting ready for that now. Can't believe that is his normal schooling finished!!!
