Former blood donor plus had ops. Blood group O+ ... common as muck!

Tryed to search around for my little red book i had through pregnancy but cant find it anywhere, was wondering if my blood group had been recorded in there but alas if i cant find it i will never know 🙄
Usually they run off with that red book at birth... it becomes part of your NHS records.

Ashamed to say I don't even know my blood group - never been told and never bothered to ask😱

Why do you want to know? - cos I was told even with a blood donor card they wouldn't believe it and would retest!

Thanks all for your various input
My o,h knows his as he was in the army and apparetly its mandatory....I will get in touch on Thursday with my GP.s receptionist as i know its the nice one that day 😛

.....That is the only reason I know mine Steff! 🙂

LOL Steff - I just wondered what you (or indeed anyone else!) would actually NEED to know, for, that's all - cos I'm one of them an' all !

On a slightly different tack, having volunterred to participate in diabetes research for the DiaBEATese campaign, they sent me a form to complete giving formal permission blah blah, and they want to know your NHS number. They helpfully say this is on the top of your prescriptions.

So I get the latest 'repeat' bits out of my 'stash of diabetes junk and other medications' cupboard - and it isn't on it ... neither is it on my Prescription Exemption card. So I had to ring the surgery and ask.

And now on the second different tack - should I have applied for a further Exemption card, bearing in mind this one expired mid March 2011 - a month before my 61st birthday?????????????????????????????????????

LOL to be honest
I was filling out my planner for 2012 early morn and one of the bits at the front along with address, phone number was blood type and it set me of thinking

Steff you right, in the forces it's mandatory for your blood group to be done, this was then on your ID card and on your dog tags.. Les was in the RAF (medical discharge for diabetes)

I found mine out when I was first pregnant with my twins which sadly I lost at 5 months.. But I like Les are common us muck.. O pos🙄

So it should be on your medical records somewhere and I'm sure it should be easy for them to find, as it's one of the pieces of information that is on the outer sleeve of your paper records..

Excellent im hoping for this to be plain and simple then LOL

They stopped asking for mine after my 60th birthday as I'm exempt from payment due to age anyway, so I've never bothered to renew.

BTW I'm one of the 1.5% : B-. I like to be difficult.😉

Um1

Well hello lovely people. I wondered for years what blood group I was due to the little page at the front of my diaries and when I had my son 26 years ago they wrote it on my notes. I am A- , does anyone know what percentage that puts me in. I am a nosey wench too lol :D
