Hello was wondering if anyone could help, i check my bloods daily and they always vary from in the 6’s up to the 9’s is it normal for the big variation or is it because i am new and haven’t quite got things right yet ? many thanks for any replies x

Your BG will vary during the day. Test first thing in the morning (approximated a fasting BG reading). Then before and two hours after eating. This will enable you to see what effect the meal had on your BG.

thankyou i wasn’t checking before meals only after so i will do that !

Your aim should be between 4 and 7 pre meal and below 9 two hours after eating with a rise of no more than 2 or 3

If you see big numbers two hours after eating then you can adjust what you are eating. The usual suspect is anything high in carbs - that's all carbs not just sugar. So bread, rice, pasta, potatoes etc can all lead to spikes
