Hi Cat, don't worry about the numbers you are seeing. I think there is a tendency to feel as though you ought to be getting things right straight from the start, but this is a complex business and it does take time to get used to things and what they might mean. You certainly should not feel stupid. Think about it like learning a language - you wouldn't expect to be fluent after your first couple of lessons, but as you build up your 'vocabularly' and get used to thinking and talking in the 'language' of diabetes and blood sugars your fluency and skills will improve 🙂

Your numbers are pretty much what I would expect from someone so recently diagnosed, and are certainly much better than many people's. You will get to grips with this, don't worry! 🙂

Thanks for that, I got up this morning and reading was 7.9. I was very tired last night, hence my reason for going to bed 'early' at 11pm. Alarm went off as usual at 6 am but I was too tired to get up so slept on till 6.45am and did that test at 7.15am. Certainly a better reading than being in the 9's. Been battling a heavy nosebleed since then.....running so late now. Thank heavens for flexi time :D:D

Hope you have a good day! I slept in a bit this morning too! 🙂

Ha, I didn't necessarily sleep in....I chose to lie in because I was still tired. Thankfully I have the luxury of flexi time that I can wander in at almost whatever time I like. Thing is Thursday mornings I sometimes have a meeting to attend at 9.30am.....eek. Still been battling with the nosebleed which has put me a bit behind. This has never happened to me ever, thinking my BP might be a bit high today, so have taken my BP tablets to see if that will help. However was thinking there surely must be a link to tiredness/lack of sleep/lots of sleep to what numbers you get on waking readings??? My last few morning readings have been in the 9's. I never sleep well and my quality of sleep is poor too so I tend to stay up a bit later in the hope I fall asleep faster. But last night after work was exhausted and went to bed at least an hour earlier than normal and slept till 6.45am as I usually sleep till 5.30am. So slept longer and reading better this morning at 7.9. Interesting. Hey ho,.....meeting in half an hour, must dash have a good day whatever you're up to :D
