Blood Glucose Logbook suggestion request

My husband @Busdriver60 will soon be starting his new job as school coach driver (finally!!) now he has got his shiny new DVLA PCV licence. He has asked about blood glucose logbook which he could record every two hours during his work day.

Do you have recommendations for logbook, either pocket sized paper-based or digital, and where can I get for him?

(He has his own Accu-Chek digital meter he will be using at home and when out and about, so he plan to take his NHS-issued Fine Test blood glucose meter with him at work and record manually every two hours during his work day).

Many thanks 🙂
GracefulAng

Pretty sure it’s the meter that the readings have to be stored in, a paper version wouldn’t work as evidence as he could write any number down. May be easier to stick to one meter to make it easier to prove he is checking every day not just when driving.

I think you might well be right, that whatever is in the memory of the glucose meter is the definitive record, but I can see why the OP might like a paper record. It is far easier to show along with all his other paperwork if he is subject to a roadside spot check. Easier than digging out a meter and explaining how it works to some officious inspector.

I have no idea whether an "official" log sheet exists @Busdriver60, @GracefulAng but a would a notebook where he could note his readings down be sufficient? A new page for each day and columns for time and reading?

Morning GA.
Can’t really add to anything that others have said but just wanted to say how pleased many of us on here are about Paul getting his new opportunity which he richly deserved.
We are all aware of the support you have given him during this challenging time post diagnosis and are sure that there will be a much better future ahead.

Thank you for your kind words Wendal. I hope things will improve for me very soon. I have at least three different coach companies who want to employ me. I have to decide this week which one to work for. So excited!

No worries Paul.It was more to recognise the pivotal role of your other half and how much this opportunity means to the both of you in a whole host of ways.
