Hi I'm a new member so be gentle 🙂 I have type 2 Diabetes, I was diagnosed about 2 yrs ago I take Metformin twice a day as prescribed.

I also had a Accu-chek Blood testing machine prescribed and the cassettes, I recently added to my prescription some more cassettes only to be told that the Diabetic nurse has said I no longer need to test my blood as Metformin will stop my blood sugar going too low, I must say I was a bit put out as I have just started a new exercise regime ( bought an exercise bike ) I like to check my bloods after exercise. ... need I be worried ? the replacement cassettes are about £30 for 50 tests..... thanks.

Welcome.
Unfortunately this happening more often, and the Accuchek cassettes are expensive to self fund.

I suggest buying a meter which uses cheaper disposables, and self funding.

Hello and welcome Paul (if I haven't said so already). 🙂
