Just like to share my experience to perhaps encourage people in a similar situation.
In July my Hba1c was 59, my doctor gave me three months to get it under control before considering medication. I have a sweet tooth but I managed to give up chocolate, sweets, cake and biscuits. I started walking every day, only 2/3 miles but walking as fast as I could manage. I also bought an exercise cycle to use when it rains! Just do 20 minutes on that, again as fast as I can manage. My wife has been brilliant in adjusting food portions and buying healthy items. My step daughter is a diabetic nurse and she has also been brilliant with her advise and support.
My last blood test results returned a new Hba1c reading of 28 !!! Even my doctor was amazed and I was delighted. So it can be done, good luck if you are in a similar situation
