Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello all, I have just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My main problem is that I keep suffering from an urge to pee, I go but it's just a trickle. I also have a slight pain on the left side lower abdomen. This mainly happens in the afternoon, I drink plenty of water but this just adds to the problem I think. Please does anyone out there know how I can stop this?

Hi Binki, it's not unusual to need to pee excessively when glucose levels are too high. It's the way the body tries to expel the glucose. However, if you have pain and are struggling to pass it, you could possibly have a urinary tract or kidney infection. Best thing would be to go and see your GP or nurse and do a urine sample to be checked out. Good luck with it but keep drinking plenty of water.

Sounds as if you have an infection so you need to pop along to see your GP. Take a wee sample along with you so it can be tested.

Welcome.
Agree with what has been said about seeing a Doctor.

Hi Binki, Welcome.
I agree with the others, the best thing you can do is get what my practice calls an on the day appointment and take a urine sample with you if you can.
