I love Black Forest Gateau. I treated myself to one for Christmas and another for New Year, and in both cases, when it arrived I sang "Got a Black Forest Gateau..." to the tune of Black Magic Woman. 😉
I too would like the recipe for a low-carb one, if such is humanly possible.
Can't be too difficult. The cake could be made using the same recipe as the Yule Log I made. Then you have cream, which is fine. The worst bit will be the cherries, but the cream should help slow down the carbs.
I used a premade sponge just for ease today, I'll try marks Yule sponge next time. It's built up with Sponge, instead of a layer of cream I used Rachaels Organic Cherry Yoghurt (so no cherry compote and then cherries. Repeat for 3 layers then the top and whipped Emlea double cream and shavings of Green & Blacks 85% dark chocolate.
BGL before is 6.6, I'll test in an hour and then 2
