Last time i went to the hospital was a while ago and when i was there they said i was getting discharged after i went to see the consultant problem is they always make the appointments for a tuesday and i just can't go to them as i'm at college! So i don't know whether to ring up and ask if im suppose to be going to hospital still or make an appointment at the doctors? help?

Call your GP. Discharging normally means that the hospital no longer think they need to see you. Your GP should have a letter saying either you have been discharged or that they want to see you again in x months.

What Margie says:D

Plus - you may have been discharged becauseyou missed appointments - can you not go on a college day just once or twice? My daughter has to miss school for most of her appointments (whole days for some as they are a two hour coach trip away) but if she didn't there would be no appointments at all:(

Hope GP can shed some light on it for you soon🙂

i use to miss school for my appointments, but its just i have to get a bus there and i'd miss alot of college which would involve alot of catching up :/ i have missed a fair few appointments tbh, i just don't wanna miss college.

I think you're right to prioritise your college work but could you ask to speak with the consultant and see if he/she'll see you on another day just to go over everything and see if there's anything that needs addressing ?

You could be missing out on some good care just because they have the clinic on the wrong day and it'll help them to see that you're not just disinterested.🙂

I've been told over and over that he is only in on a tuesday. and every appointment since my first one with him i haven't been able to make :/

I wonder then if there is a possibility of your GP referring you to a different consultant who runs a clinic on a different day? Is Tuesday a particularly important day on your college week then, or would any other days present similar problems? Funnily enough, my diabetes reviews are on a Tuesday too!

tuesdays are the days which my lecturer has said if we missed she will kill us lmao.
im at college monday, tuesday and part of friday but wednesdays, thursdays and fridays i usually am at work so it's like rawr.

rang up the doctors and hospital, hospital confirmed i had been discharged but i had not be notified neither had the doctors apparently.
now got an appointment at the docs for 20th for blood tests then another on the 16th with the diabetic nurse, they were very surprised that a girl of my age had just been left with no advice or anything 🙂

Well - I think you need to actually see your GP and ask what other clinics you can go to, which may be more convenient/accomodating for you. For instance, my old clinic where I used to live, I had a standing order for a 4pm appointment on a Friday afternoon. So twice a year I left work early and started my weekend early too as I would be home before I would otherwise have even left the office 20 miles away!
