Birthday on monday-- HBA1c on tuesday!!

Just got a letter from the Surgery requesting I go in for my first HBA1c blood test on tues.

Quandary, I am going out for a birthday meal on sunday (3rd) . Shall I try to change the blood test day?. I am due to see the DSN on the 7th with result.

Your birthday meal won't have any impact on the HbA1c test, so I'd go ahead with the appointment 🙂

The HBA1C is a test to measure the amount of sugar in your blood cells and the cells regenerate over a 12week period so even if you go mad for your meal I doubt(personally) that one meals would affect the HBA test unless you were celebrating and eating like so every day for 3 months! The only thing it might affect is your readings after the meal, take meds as normal and things should be restored in plenty time for your test 2 days later....

Thanks folks. I have already arranged for the DSN to ring me tomorrow morning.

Ive also got to take in a urine on tuesday (fasting one). Hope it shows no sugar!.
