Forgive me for asking this question, I am still trying to get my head around it all
since my diagnosis in September. My BG results are a lot better, but I have not got down consistently to 6.5 before meals yet, sometimes they are in the 7's. I know some people seem to have achieved this. Am I being impatient? I so much don't want to go on meds when I see the Dr in December. Thank as always for all your support and help. 🙂

Hi Happydog,
sounds as if you are doing just fine 🙂 September wasn't that long ago. Remember Rome was not built in a day 🙂

Thank you for your encouragement. When people have got their BG levels down within the acceptable band do they sometimes have readings that are higher that they want? My guess is yes but I don't know. I feel so ignorant as there is so much conflicting information. I am so grateful to have people that I can ask. TY 🙂

Oh God, yes we most certainly do, Happy Dog!

Bet you have a doctor who tells you we don't? Well, he's a liar and FWIW any diabetic or other person who reckon they know about diabetes who says they always have perfect numbers is a liar too!

Christ - life would be so boring if we had perfect numbers every day, you'd never have a minute to have a Real Life and you had to watch it like a hawk every minute for fear of straying away from perfection.

You are doing utterly BRILL for such a recently diagnosed person - and don't listen to anyone who tries to tell you any different!

If you're getting it down to the 7's without any meds I think you're doing mighty well! Keep at it 🙂

Thank you for making me laugh Trophywench and to both of you for taking the trouble to reply to me. I am on my DEAL course Monday next week. A bit apprehensive as no doubt I will be told that I am doing it all wrong and that I need to eat more carbs etc. I'll just hold onto what I have learnt from you the people who really know about this because they have it. Thank you all. I am beginning to see some readings in the 5's before meals and going up to 7's after, so it is getting better and I now will not get scared when it goes up a bit. 🙂
