Had my appt with my nurse today, bg was 15.7! oh dear oh dear! came out thinking wat a load of rubbish nothing is working but still have another 5/6 weeks before the big blood test so have decided to stop being a misreable moaning cow and pull my finger out!
She has given me a bg monitor so maybe that will help identify even more good and bad foods! even things like carrots were a shock 2 me, tht they wd be ok however you cooked them but shd only be boiled not roasted! I think i need 2 hit the shops for a cook book1🙂

Sorry to hear about the high levels nickie - how long after your last meal was it taken? The good thing is that it has given you some motivation, and now that you have a meter you will be able to tailor your diet much better and achieve better levels.🙂 Get yourself a book about Glycaemic Load from the library - it will teach you what foods will release their energy slowly and keep your levels from spiking high. I believe that there are cookbooks based on the principle too, if you're into recipes.
