I did think when I looked at on the web at that it looked old fashioned and very basic to me.
I had the Neon Diagnostics webpage open whilst on the phone, and I thought the same as well. I don't think this device should be allowed to be recommended if deemed not suitable. There must be a whitelist of devices that are approved for use in T1D monitoring by NHS?

Thank you for recommending this. Yes I believe the DSN is going to contact the surgery to let them know. I just have to wait for this before requesting to switch 'officially'.
I am going to try only BG testing pre-meals or before injections, as I am quite pleased with the overall result correlations from the Libre. This may, in the future, make sense to prescribe the FS Optium test strips if I only use 100/month instead of 200 (less costly to the surgery).
Tbh I now find I finger bodge much less than I used too but as you know sensors do vary from one day to the next plus the hypo’s ant hypers so wouldn’t worry about how many you use, you may well find your DSN informs your Gp practice how many strips to provide each month.
Please let us now how you get on

Yes that seems sensible. The Libre seems to be consistent most of the time, but as you say, some results have me scratching my head until or in mild disbelief until I've checked my BG for comparison. Thank you for your and everybody's support - I will be sure to update the thread as soon as I have news. 🙂
