Hmm, so I've just got back from the latest podiatrists appointment. I wouldn't say it was the most informative...the young woman I saw banged on about complex v. simple carbs, and advised plant-based foods and potatoes. She didn't mention meat so maybe she was a veggie but cream, cheese, butter were all no-nos, and the worst of all was *fat*, which contributed to all sorts of ailments, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, prostate cancer, etc. etc. They eat potatoes in South America, so spuds were ok
. I tried to explain my low-carb diet but she didn't really stop for breath, so in the end I gave up.
She also scraped the small patch of hard skin on the ball of my foot and said it was a verruca, probably picked up from a shower or swimming pool. Really? I've been seen by 3 or 4 other people there and nobody has mentioned that before. Well, I can't swim so don't frequent swimming pools, and the only other person who uses the shower is Mr Marten - actually, he doesn't, he prefers to have a bath...
Oh well. I have you good people to speak sense and be encouraging
.
It's going to be a busy few days now so I wish you all a very
***MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!***
