I don't like Greek yoghurt , wether flavoured or not

I am looking for a diabetic friendly flavoured yoghurt ? .....reduced fat or full fat with fruit

My mum used to like the weight watchers layered fromage frais fruit yoghurts ?

Ski ? Shape ? Whatever happened to them ?

Especially hazelnut ?

Instead of looking for 'diabetic friendly' flavoured yogurts why not do what many of us do, which is to buy plain, unflavoured yogurt (if doesn't have to be Greek) and add some real fruit to it?

I don't like unflavoured yoghurt

Neither do I, but try it with a handful of chopped strawberries. You might be surprised that it's the strawberries you can taste. Likewise a handful of blueberries, or raspberries, or blackberries or even a mixture. Nutrition-wise it'll also beat any so-called 'diabetic friendly' flavoured yoghurt hands down.

Nutritionally you have me beaten hands down , I can't argue that natural plain yoghurt or Greek etc with berries is not better for me

But I am afraid I simply can't eat it

I am mixing a small amount of granola with half a small apple , desert spoon of nuts and seeds and a few blueberries

Any yoghurt I use is a carrier sort of arrangement , a lubricant if you like

I think I could even add a bit of milk with a small amount of " naughty " full fat flavoured yoghurt ?

Or the alpro ?

If you are happy using sweeteners you could try adding a small amount of powdered sweetener to the yogurt, makes a huge difference to me.

When I add berries to the yoghurt I like , no

When I add berries to natural yoghurt or Greek yoghurt I really don't enjoy it at all

I am guessing that you are addicted to the sweetness of the flavoured yoghurt, which will have a number of artificial additives in it to make it taste more attractive. The food industry goes to very significant lengths to make their products as appealing as possible to peoples taste buds and even addictive in some respects, so that you don't want to buy any other brand or the natural product.
I found that I needed t retrain my palate/taste buds not to crave that sweetness and to enjoy the slight sourness and creaminess of a natural creamy Greek yoghurt. It is important to get a good creamy one though, not a thin, runny, sour, low fat one. I just bought a full fat Greek style natural yoghurt from Tesco Express the other day because it was only a 6 mile round trip on foot to the Tesco and at least 8 to Lidl. I have concluded that it is worth the extra 2 miles to go to Lidl and extra hill. Not impressed with the Tesco one at all and I have had Yeo Valley before from the local village shop and been really disappointed with those too. Plus the Lidl one comes in a 1kg pot which lasts me a week and is much cheaper.

Have you tried the high protein yoghurts Arla, Brooklea (Aldi) in various flavours, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry.
I do find the flavour of different makes of full fat Greek yoghurt can be very different, some I don't like but find the Brooklea (Aldi) one to be the best, but it has to be the full fat one the others are too acidic.

I will check out the aldi Brooklea brand out today when I go shopping

Thank you

Yes, I have had the Aldi Brooklea one too and felt that it was equally as good as the Lidl one, if not identical. I could happily just sit and eat it from the pot with a spoon and no fruit.

I am off shopping later and will give it a try

I assume it has SOME sugar in it ?

@Taffyboyslim It’s not compulsory to eat Greek yoghurt! If you don’t like it, don’t eat it. I can’t stand yoghurt of any kind and every time the words “creamy Greek yoghurt” appear on the forum (which is depressingly often!) my stomach gives a little heave. I’m quite happy having my breakfast granola and blueberries with a small amount of semi-skimmed milk ( around 60ml, 3g carbs)
The whole point about your way of eating is that it should comprise things you enjoy, or it won’t be sustainable. But never stop experimenting!

The full fat ones are 13 g carb ?

Is that OK?

Not for me. And there are some flavoured options that are less than that. Eg Lindahls Kvarg at 3.4/100 or 5.1g per standard pot. It quark (a sort of cheese but doesn’t taste cheese at all) not yogurt. Sadly it’s almost fat free so not particularly filling and has artificial sweeteners - like all the low fat, normal flavoured yoghurts

How about mixing a decent Greek yogurt with the best option flavoured one you can find and gradually adjust the proportions as you lose your sweet tooth?

Personally I’d also rethink the granola for a grain free one, but stick with the berries, seeds and nuts.

I am going to pick up one of these aldi ones up as suggested and mix it with milk

I have ordered some granola without all the oats etc
