I spotted in Morrisons today that they are pushing a new variety of Bergen bread with Buckwheat and Poppy seed for ?1 if anyone is interested in trying it.

be warned it's non to kind to blood sugars as others have found out. 🙂
 
Yep, tried it. It's definitely not Low GI! (but possibly not as high as white)
 
Sure the buckwheat Burgen is heavier on carbs, something like 15g a slice compared to 11g for soya & linseed.
 
Had a loaf of the poppy seed a few weeks back. I also found it *very* spiky. Half of it went uneaten...
 
Thought it was very nice toasted with Peanut butter but raised me 2.5 points at 1hr.
