Has anyone tried mulberry tea as an aid to help decrease BG?

Just been round to a friend who is pre-diabetic and who's FiL is diabetic and apparently it's very useful in reducing BG.

Just wondering if anyone else has tried it.

Of course I consider this very much a supplementary idea however if it genuinely helps then it'll be something to add to the list of things to drink instead of coffee which I love but have too much of!

In the 6 years I have been using this forum, I don't think I have ever heard mulberry tea mentioned. Berberine is often mentioned particularly by newbies but I don't think there is any real validity to it. I think a lot of these things are marketing ploys targeting desperate people to enable someone to make money, so I would be wary.

My friend's FiL has apparently been able to reduce their insulin by a reasonable amount - he has no particular reason to lie to me about it.

Agree though that such claims need to be met with caution. To be fair, it's no more expensive than any other herbal tea in leaf form so no harm in trying it, if nothing else as a nice caffeine free option.

I will of course report back with any thoughts.
